The BNBC is one of a number of UK based organisations covering various facets of the Nigerian scene.
The largest business organisation it terms of membership is the West Africa Business Association (WABA), which was founded in 1956 as the West Africa Committee. It is active through 23 African countries, from Mauritania in the north to Angola in the south. The present chairman is Mr Peter Banner OBE. The BNBC has a warm and mutually supportive relationship with WABA especially relating to Nigeria.
The Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust which is a non-political and non-sectarian membership charity managed by a Board of Trustees who meet at least three times a year. The Board's grant-making policy is to select projects that will contribute to the future development of Nigeria.
The broad aim of the Educational Trust is to advance the education of Nigerian students and to assist in the provision of resources and facilities for education in Nigeria.

Many BNBC members are also members of these major kindred bodies, with which there are joint functions from time to time. The BNBC intends to maintain and build on these UK links, with each organisation benefiting from the perspective of the others.
Memorandum of Understanding
The Britain Nigeria Business Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the
Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC)
Both parties recognise that their objective is to promote trade and investment links between the United Kingdom and Nigeria and they agree to provide effective cooperation in order to foster the interests of their members and wider business community for the mutual benefit of the two nations.

Cooperation with the Nigeria Economic Summit Group being desirous of working together to promote the development of trade and investment links between the United Kingdom and Nigeria. |
